Immersion dans « l’équipe d’Hubert Cloix »

Let's start with the most important: what is a milling machine?

At first, the milling turner studies the manufacturing plans, as well as the parts to be machined.

Then comes the time to adjust the machine: positioning the part, adjusting the cutting tools, checking the dimensions and configuring the program before machining.

During manufacturing, the  lathe milling watches over the machine and checks the machined parts by filling in the production monitoring documents.

The job requires a certain ease with mathematics and geometry in order to be able to represent the parts in 3D and mastery of CAM software (computer-aided manufacturing). It is also necessary to know the different cutting tools as well as the materials used. Meticulousness and concentration are required because the parts to be manufactured, which are often expensive, require extreme precision.

Focus on José, turner-miller at Hubert Cloix:

José began his training with a BEP in general mechanics, then a CAP milling/industrial design. He started working at 18, in different companies (including prototype companies) before joining Hubert Cloix three years ago.

Ce qui est important pour lui dans ce métier, c’est l’assiduité, le savoir-faire, ainsi que le « bien-faire ».

The varied activities make the days attractive. Depending on each part to be machined, the work will not be the same, which avoids monotony.

José tells us that it's a job that requires excellent precision, as well as a certain agility.
