JEUNESSE

Born on May 16, 1924 in Corbigny (Nièvre) into a modest family, Hubert Cloix was a student at the Lycée Rollin in Paris when war was declared in 1939. So from 1940, Hubert committed himself to France, in his birthplace. He helps distribute bread and other food to refugee children. In 1943, he joined HEC. He also volunteers for first aid and social investigator training with diplomas awarded by the French Red Cross. In June 1944, Hubert received the order to leave Paris. He joined the Bernard maquis in Morvan. He will fight alongside the resistance group “ Vengeance
In 1949, he married Bernadette Courtial, they will have 4 children.  

POST-WAR

When the war was over, Hubert Cloix began a long professional career in crafts and industry:
  . Sawmill in Corbigny then in Paris
  . big coal house
  . Cover company
  . Plumbing, heating 

And finally, in 1973, creation of a company manufacturing food-processing equipment (pastocuiseurs, ice turbines and pasteurizers); the society HUBERT CLOIX. It was created to counter the virtual monopoly of foreign manufacturers concerning ice cream equipment. Its success lies in the careful and innovative manufacturing, competitive price, fast and efficient after-sales service. Taken over by his son, Jean-Loup, then his grandson Maximilien, the company continues to perpetuate the legacy received by Hubert Cloix. 

VOLENTEERING

At the same time, municipal councilor then deputy mayor of Saint-Maur-des-Fossés (Val-de-Marne) from 1976 to 1995, Hubert Cloix devotes himself with dedication to his neighbor by volunteering for numerous charities and by intervening with the intermunicipal retirement home in Saint-Maur. Faithful to his comrades in the Resistance, until his death he assumed the presidency of the Departmental Union of Volunteer Fighters of the Resistance of Val-de-Marne and testified to his experience as a maquisard in front of schoolchildren, particularly within the framework of the preparation for the National Resistance and Deportation Competition.
Officer of the Legion of Honour, his actions in the Resistance also earned him the Cross of the Voluntary Combatant 1939-1945 and the Cross of the Voluntary Combatant of the Resistance. 

Died on February 02, 2022, his company Hubert Cloix continues its development to satisfy the most gourmet.
